A message from Christine Low regarding the Cambodia Build
Hi everyone
Thank you so much for coming to the special build. Surely you all had personally been blessed to witness and experience the impact your presence had made to the home-partners and community you were building with. The house dedication and sharing were so touching on so many levels – across the 22 houses built - with the home-partners and the volunteers alike.
Thank you for your contribution of US$25 to purchase vinyl flooring for house of your home-partner family.
The Country Director, Bernadette saw a New Zealander sat alone near the Community Center after the house dedication with his sun shade on. She asked him why he still had it on and he said to hide the tears and redness in his eyes. He was overwhelmed with emotions when the home-partner thanked his team for a beautiful home. To the New Zealander, the Habitat home would not even considered a complete home as expected by New Zealand standard. However, it was a beautiful house to the home-partner compared to the living conditions he and his family had to live with staying at the dumpsite.
Surely not only the home-partner and their family/children lives are changed, but I believe many of the volunteers truly experienced life transformation as well.
It was so powerful just how one week of your time could make a BIG difference.
